i think that is all because of marketshare. 

back when there were 5-6% of us griping about the switch to PPC from 68k, we had to consider it not hubris, but simply survival.
now that they have a huge segment of the market, the attitude is the same, but the excuse is no longer valid.

this would be a huge potential for businesses.

At work, the majority of clients are SSD boot drives, and 1000bT on cat 6 & 5e, and it is definitely the bottleneck for our FC arrays - the computers on the 4 Gbps FC network see 440-450 MB/s speeds, the 1000bT (majority of the clients) are only hitting 90-95 MB/s - still good, but when we are accessing 80 TB of data, the difference is very noticeable.

this is progress... i can get, with their app, the same thing i can get with my antenna + PVR!
oh, except i can't run commercial skip software on it...
