Apple expected to replace Touch ID with two-step facial, fingerprint bio-recognition tech
Does anyone else not see this as a huge step back in security? Two factor authentication should be something you have and something you know- you have your face or your fingerprint and you know your passcode. If it is two things you have, you can be forced to unlock your phone purely by being made to press your finger on the home button and showing your face to the phone. Criminals and the police will love the warrantless access this will give them. Thanks but no thanks! -
Apple automatically uploading iPhone call logs to iCloud, forensics firm says [u]
Golly a lot of Trump supporters on this thread. What planet are you on? The day Apple gives up on security is the day that many many non US iphone users give up on Apple. No one who has any interest in the safety and security of his and his clients' data, a legal imperative in many jurisdictions, would consider using iCloud or use a system that was not as secure as was available. From the point of view of anyone who is not a US citizen (and in reality even for them) iCloud is hugely insecure. It is in Apple's and our long term interest that Cook stands up to intrusive, unconstitutional and immoral snooping into everyone's private business. -

Cloud? Without end to end encryption and a cloud server outside the US? Not of any use in Europe if you work in any industry the demands confidential docs are kept confidential- it wouldn't even be legal to use such a service! I hope they haven't broken anything like local sync of iTunes to make this work. or looks like I'll have to stay on 10.11.whatever is the final version of El Capitan
