It is certainly not foolish. Magazines are not selling nowadays just like music was not selling when iTunes was introduced.   Apple will save the magazine industry just like the music and Apps industries. 
Remember that Apple has to maintain its infrastructure and customer devices to support this. 

I use Apple News  a lot and it is great.  I look forward to the magazine subscriptions. 
Just imagine getting your TV, Music, News, and magazines in one well integrated place.

Lawyers who file law suits like this should be disbarred.  Period.

Qualcomm will lose this case.  They are toast and they know it.
Not sure what their punishment will be but they will not get a percentage of iPhone sales based on the price of the iPhone.
Apple should stop doing business with them and never look back.
