Stutter charity calls out Apple for 'stammering' emoji gaffe
What the PC “wokes” forget, there are many reason for stammering and stuttering, and they include getting caught in a lie, being embarrassed etc. non of which have to do with a speech impediment.
And in many of those cases, that emoji is totally fitting.
As much as nobody should be ridiculed for a speech impediment or some other form of handicap, the world doesn’t revolve around the weak people who think everything is about them.
What’s next? Can’t wear dark sunglasses because blind people might feel mocked by it?It’s going to be fun in the future, when AI working on large datasets discovers scientific facts that happen to be not to the liking of “the woke”; will science be forced to bury the truth, lest some group identity gets offended? -

UK celebs call for tax on iPhones & Macs to help fund creative arts
Yeah, right; so the mega successful artists and their managers get even more money and power, while the artists who’d actually need to money wouldn’t get anything. Because you can bet, the distribution key is sales based, which heavily favors those with massive promotions budgets and access to official sales channels.
So, thanks, but no thanks! -
Intel Macs can't run Windows 11 without this workaround
Well, Windows 11 ARM Edition is just a matter of time. “Ancient” Intel Macs will be stuck with Win10, and “modern” ARM Macs will get Win11-ARM, with x86 emulation…
So basically, M$ is helping Apple sell more Macs.
People requiring intel based Win11 will be able to buy any of the many TV-dongle PCs, and access them with RDP: no fickle BootCamp, no nasty recurring licenses for Parallels, etc.

Apple offers developers workaround for app RAM limits in iOS 15, iPadOS 15
The problem: more available RAM makes developers lazy and wasteful with resources.
But there are applications where the data sets themselves are huge, such as image data, DNA databases, audio/video recordings.
Having such data memory mapped allows for more elegant algorithms and letting the OS (which is generally better at it) handle memory management.
But that would require full-on virtual memory with paging and all; not sure that fits Apple’s iOS model…
