M2 Pro Mac mini review: Best price to performance Apple Silicon yet

15.5-inch MacBook Air rumored to arrive in early April 2023
I would buy a 15.5" Air immediately. My 2017 15" MBP is still performs well, but even after a keyboard and battery replacement (free via Apple) I've now got key caps that are cracked. There will probably be another keyboard failure in it's future and that one won't be free. The Air would be a lot faster and the big screen is what I prefer for my elderly vision. Don't need the extra CPU/graphics power of an MBP any longer. I hope this rumor turns out to be correct. -
Meross Smart Plug Mini review: A good addition to your smart home

Do they not use a relay to make and break the circuit? If they are leaking current AND using a relay, that seems crazy bad.
Just to be clear, the fact that solid state relays leak a very small amount of current in the OFF state is not a negative assessment of their worthiness or quality. It’s simply a characteristic of the technology they use. The leakage is observable in this particular case because LEDs have very low current requirements so you get to observe the leakage in this very specific case.
Solid state relays have many advantages over mechanical relays (or more accurately described, electromagnetic relays) especially for switching or controlling AC loads, including having no switching latency, no contact wear, no contact arcing, insensitivity to mechanical vibration, and greater operational energy efficiency. The main disadvantages are the leakage, a small load voltage drop (~0.5V to 0.7V) due to the semiconductor junctions, and lower suitability for low voltage applications.
My Meross MSS115s make a clicking sound when they open or close. To me that says relay, but maybe not? I measured 0.5 volts across the terminals when in the off state.

HomeKit architecture upgrade expected to return in iOS 16.4
I didn't have any issues with 16.2, but in the interim I have received and installed two Meross MSS115 Smart Plugs with Matter. I'll be curious to see what happens since these brand new products have not been very easy to install. Right out of the box they would not show up on the Meross app or Home App. After rebooting everything in the house I eventually got them installed, only to see them listed as "not responding" a few hours later. More fiddling, uninstalling, rebooting ad infinitum and finally they are working and show up correctly. How long this will last and how the looming 16.4 update will impact them is to be determined I guess. Homekit in general, does not impress.
