  • Netflix to spend $7B on content in 2018

7 billion is mostly licensed content. How much are they going to spend on original? 2 billion? Think about how many shows and movies Netflix produces; if they are doing that with 1 - 3 billion, then a 1 billion outlay by Apple just to get started in the game is pretty serious.

  • Apple's glass-backed 'iPhone 7s' rumored to be slightly bigger in all dimensions, except f...

If it's thicker and more fragile, it better be for true wireless charging and not just Qi inductive charging. On the other hand, the positive side of having an all glass phone is that it's less slippery compared to all aluminum.

They should be putting their focus on developing and integrating features that are genuinely useful and that no other phone has; inductive charging has been around for YEARS and no one cares about it because it charges slower and still requires a cable reaching the phone to charge.

  • New dummy unit of Apple's 'iPhone 8' shows off alleged gold/copper color

People who think faceID can't replace touchID just aren't using their imagination. If you are looking at your phone to do something, It can be looking back at you. A face mask is just the same thing as gloves; either take it off or use a password.

  • Why the 'iPhone 8' may see Apple finally adopt OLED

70% chance that the high-end 2017 iPhone will be called "iPhone Pro".
30% chance that it will be called "iPhone Edition".
0% chance that it will be called "iPhone 8".
    IMHO.

I think there is a greater chance it will be called "Edition" or even "X" than pro. Pro in Apple parlance somewhat means a different class of device/product that has features useful for professionals that non-pro products never get, but is still meant to be very mass-market. Edition connotes something special, high priced, but not necessarily including features of a different class of device for specific demographics. Just a halo device for those that can afford it. iPhone Pro/X/Edition will have more features than the other sibling iPhones, but those features are expected to be adopted as mainstream within a couple upgrade cycles. The iPhone 7 Plus models were close to being called Pro, but since they were already called plus previously and they didn't include the smart connector, the change would have caused more confusion than was worth it. I don't think anyone could seriously argue against your third point, so why is everyone calling it the iPhone 8? Just crazy talk!
