  • Kanye West blames conflict between Apple Music & Tidal for missing projects

    markiezyy said:
People hate Kanye, but there is no denying that Kanye with the Apple platform would be huge for both. Look at how Drake/Apple have worked together....At the end of the day, no country singer/rock star have the super star following like Drake/Kanye have and I'm sure somewhere Apple is feeling the same way as Kanye is about not working together.
Kanye West's viewpoint is that Apple needs to not do things that don't benefit Kanye West, an opinion I don't share.

  • Apple to debut new Macs at Oct. 27 event, report says

    Doodpants said:
It had better not just be laptops; their desktop Macs are also in dire need of a refresh. I'm itching to replace my 2010 Mac Mini, either with a new Mac Mini or an iMac.

I surely hope the Mac Pro sees an update at this event. My boss thought I was making it up when I mentioned that currently shipping Mac Pro cylinders are still the 2013 model, with no major upgrade in 3 years.
Apple doesn't want us to replace an old Mini with a better Mini, they've got other plans for us.  They could sell a ton of well appointed Minis but, alas, it's not what they do.  They'll continue to shortchange the Mini and Mac Pro.  When they decided the Pro market wasn't worth satisfying software-wise they should have just closed the door on any Pro hardware teases.   Mac Pros especially had such a blazing introduction followed by crickets for three years.  Why bother keeping either in the catalog if they're not at least getting the kinds of updates enough to keep them attractive?  Great boxes, but their prices don't reflect the cobwebs on them either.

  • Inside Apple's 2016 MacBook Pro: Graphics processing unit choices

it's to switch to pcs, i'm gonna miss mac os, but u can't throw that much  money on such crappy specs, the article is evocking heat concerns but dells xps lineup, asus zenbooks and lenovos thinkpads, handle prefectly high end graphic cards, xps lineup has even equivalent battery life than current macbooks. apple coud innovate on better ways to evacuate heat rather than go for the easy cheap solution of using mid range hardware, and nothings about to change ans long as ppl dont realize its becoming a waste of money, the os is getting worse im having more and more crashes since yosemite, ms windows at least has a way to summon the task manager !!
You start out by saying you’ll miss “mac os,” something that doesn’t even exist (it’s OS X). Then at the end you say the os is getting worse. You then expose your complete ignorance further by saying “ms windows at least has a way to summon the task manager!! Never heard of option-command-esc, huh? Never heard of the terminal app, huh? A post like yours was completely expected at some point. Your ilk simply cannot resist the temptation.
Nearly all of the OS X image processing and pro audio apps I use and encounter daily elsewhere are available in other operating systems.  Most work as well, some absolutely better than on OS X, through no fault of their own.  It's great that Apple is doing what works best for them, but if you think the ramped up exodus away from Macs in pro creative fields where it once was a better choice (not that it was ever the only choice) has only been participated in by people who are ignorant you'd be wrong.   If you don't think that graphic card performance or hardware limits should matter to anyone, well....

  • CVS continues Apple Pay snub, launches barcode-based 'CVS Pay'

The real question is, why would I want this? Why would anyone want this? Who the hell wants to download a dedicated payment app for a SINGLE store? This move makes no sense whatsoever. Unless of course, you believe this is a customer data collection and targeted marketing scheme....which I'm starting to...

Not so much a scheme but that's basically the reason any company wants their own system instead of using someone else's.
Part of me understands CVS position on this.  However it is very short sighted.  Consumers want to use what works for them.  They want CHOICE.  CVS should allow Apple Pay and then come out with their own solution also.  If their solution is better for consumers they will use it.  Otherwise they will use the prove solution of Apple Pay.
But it's the same as Apple doing things that benefit Apple and not the end user. Apple has proven that consumer choice is not necessary if you get them settled enough into your camp. Accepting other pay systems while getting their own off the ground would probably cut the use of their's to a fraction and possibly not enough activity and benefits to warrant the expense. As it is now most consumers aren't even particularly aware of such payment mechanisms or why they need to use it over, say, a regular vendor credit card. I think the stores see it as still a not yet won battle over the final landscape.

  • Bluetooth streaming problems introduced in Apple's iOS 9.2 remain, have wide ramifications

Your comment proves that even Apple fans lack imagination. This is similar non-sense I heard about the disc drive removal.
    1000 times YES. Thank you.
I don't feel it's nearly so similar.  The need for having an optical drive on a laptop at that time isn't the same as currently having a headphone output on a media player/phone  that works out of the box without buying a piece of hardware because its intended means of wireless transmit isn't working well enough yet.
