I still use my 2006 black MacBook for some tasks, mainly ripping CDs and DVDs. It’s showing it’s age a little - the trackpad no-longer works and I had to hack OS X last year to allow it to use a SuperDrive when the internal optical drive failed. Last week the battery finally died, with it swelling like those on a Samsung phone. Fortunately I bought a spare battery over a decade ago that up to now has been used, so I may get another 15 years use…

And people say Macs are expensive, certainly not when you look at their much longer lives.

As for vaccine passports, it’s a good temporary measure until the pandemic is over. Those of us who have travelled internationally in the past are familiar with the paper versions required for some countries. It’s no big deal unless you’re paranoid.
