Apple's ad agency recommends a stop to Twitter campaigns
9secondkox2 said:So now that Twitter is finally being taken seriously, NOW Apple wants out? These advertisers should be ashamed. Nothing but a political shove.
They can't take about trust and safety while trying to boycott Twitter to ensure it gets hurt. As if their tactic isn't blatantly ovious.
It’s always had a low user-base and failed to grow like other social media networks. But because of its design, is ideal for unhinged rants, which is why it gets a disproportionate amount of media coverage.
These companies don’t want to ‘hurt’ Twitter. They don’t give a monkey’s about Twitter, they are simply concerned about their brand value. All companies number 1 concern is to keep their shareholders happy, otherwise the leadership can be ousted by the shareholders.
Being associated with neo-fascists of either the extreme right wing or extreme left wing of politics is bad for business as most people are somewhere in the centre.Musk is correct, free speech is an important right, but with rights comes responsibilities. The fear is that Musk is going to allow nut jobs back on the platform who don’t take responsibility for the things they say. -
US DOJ prepping antitrust case against Apple
Arguably Apple using its market position with iOS to leverage AirTags via the bundling of the FindMy app. It’s the same as when Microsoft bundled Internet Explorer with Windows. I imagine Apple’s lawyers would have flagged this to management long before it AirTags launched.
The difference is AirTags is a useful product that is superior to the competition and which people prefer. Whereas IE was a complete pile of shit that Windows tried to force you to use by being the linked default browser - only later could this be changed. -
Apple celebrates music recognition app Shazam turning 20
I remember using the service in the early days, having to dial a number (2580 I think) on my feature phone and let it listen to the playing song. It would then hang up and text the song details to me.
It was a huge aid as I would eventually get into djing and all those Shazam’s had helped build up my record library. Although an Apple fan, I must admit I was a little concerned when Apple bought the small London based start-up that created it, but thankfully it’s gone on to greater success. -
Oeplay MusicStar5 review: Fantastic audio quality with a few drawbacks
Interesting that it incorporates a ribbon tweeter, I’ve only ever seen these previously on monitors made by Adam Audio - often used as studio monitors. They give a great sound.
Seriously though, only Bluetooth and no Airplay?!?!
BTW - anybody recognise the iPhone app being used to analyse the sound at different frequencies? -
