If you want a cheap but quality record player, the best option is Pro-Ject. They manufacture their own tables, from cheap introductory tables to ridiculously priced audiophile tables that make Apple’s prices appear to be bargain basement.
Poor quality tables destroy records - ok every play is destructive, but poor quality ones will do it much much faster.

Nvidia buying ARM would have been as toxic as the Oracle purchase of Java from Sun. People would start looking for alternatives simply because of the new owner.

A busybody discovers that a democratic nation has an intelligence agency to protect it. I’d suggest any democracy lacking one would be incompetently complacent, and probably non-existent too.

Biggest issue with Facebook is that it is slow to react against people spreading anti-vaccine disinformation. This literally causes deaths due to people actually believing this nonsense.

It shouldn’t be difficult to preemptively spot these either. A significant proportion of anti-vaxx lies is generated by the Internet Research Agency in St Petersburg, Russia, working for Putin.
