  • Goldman Sachs lost $1.2 billion in 2022 mostly because of Apple Card

Sounds like BS to me. How can you lose that much money on a credit card business unless a vast number of customers default on payments or there is massive fraud. The fraud aspect is unlikely as the Apple Card is an order of magnitude safer than most other credit cards. The "defaulting" on payments also seems unlikely since iPhone owners and Apple Card users in particular seem to be from a demographic that generally pays off their CC balances or would be very negatively affected by not paying off their CC.

  • Weak demand for MacBook, Apple Watch, AirPods may have caused order cuts

Nikkei Asia and that reporter is a paid mouth piece for Apple short sellers. Yes they get away with this stuff in Asia.

That report is faulty given AirPods , watch and MacBook have completely different supply chains so one “anonymous” supply chain manager in China would not have that information.
Totally agree, some people made substantial gains off this unsubstantiated report that was probably leaked to the short sellers ahead of time. As soon as you  said 'Nikkei Asia' it was pretty obvious.

  • LastPass password vaults crackable for $100, alleges 1Password

I love 1Password and have no issues with their subscription model.  I am happy to support the evolution of the software that way, rather than having to pay upgrade fees. Their 1PW8 electron based app is excellent, no complaints there, it's better than 1PW7.

And having your vault in the cloud is not less secure. It is encrypted by the "secret key" which is long enough to make your vault essentially unbreakable by any foreseeable computer technology.  Far more likely, someone steals your physical device and guesses your personal password - having a local vault won't help you there!

  • iPhone 14 crash detection still sending deluge of false alarms from skiers

More likely it is alerting emergency that the person has had a hard fall - not that you have been in a car crash. That feature has been on the Apple Watch for a long time, it nearly called 911 after I had a big endo on a mountain bike,

Is your life worth at least the cost of iPhone 14 ? I am sure lot more. Get your iPhone upgraded to iPhone 14.
The vast majority of people have never been and will never go outside of cell service areas. The SOS feature is of no value to them. The more troubling side effect of this is people going to remote locations places ill prepared and/or inadequately assessing the risk of what they are doing knowing help is only an SOS away.
This happened just outside LA. Hardly some kind of remote location.
