Lockdowns combined with contact tracing etc. clearly work. There are so many examples around the world of the effectiveness of that approach. Including New York. Flare-ups can be dealt with once you have contact tracing in force.   It's absolutely ludicrous to say the only two choices are let the old and vulnerable die while the young work and party on, or destroy the economy by locking down. Many other nations have shown that there is a better way.

Ascribing some sinister intent is paranoid. Some programmer probably thought it was a good idea to enable some capability. And the clipboard API is public allowed since forever on iOS. As long as the data is simply being checked, then its sort of  absurd  to assume that LinkedIn are somehow 'stealing' clipboard content for nefarious purposes. There are so many better ways to get data than some random clipboard text.  No one ever thinks about this on the desktop like MacOS and Windows. Applications are always checking the clipboard for pasteable content.

The keynote was amazingly, suprisingly good - and sets the bar very high for any company. And no-one was sitting at home with shaggy hair and in their PJ's as all the celebrities pretend they are doing ( when you know they are out and about).

Of course the reason only 4% of iPhones were detected was because the app has to be in the foreground due to Apples rules on bluetooth. They knew this was going to happen and have wasted everyones time with these trials. Trying to brow-beat Apple was always going to fail.

The absurd thing is that Apple did not do this in secret. They mentioned it in the release notes for an iOS point release. Ok, they did not make a big deal about it, but still...
