The clones weren't inferior. I bought several PowerComputing units for my then employer and they worked great. They were faster at a lower price than Apple's Macs.

I’m sure it was different for different people but the design firm I was at back then bought two and they were an ongoing nightmare of compatibility issues. 

I really loved the higher end, almost pro iMacs and the 27 inch has been my main Mac for years. I'm still on Intel, waiting for a good fit to change. Finding a good screen is the problem. And it offered enough power for my uses where as the 24 inch may not...I guess buying the 24 and buying an additional screen like I used to have, always had two monitors. Anyway, sort of a bummer.

I call B.S. If they killed it it's because Android is a leak factory and maintaining the watch on that platform would be a nightmare.  Trying to provide equal quality - a nightmare. And why do it? For a tiny number of watch sales? So nightmare crossed with Not Worth It...And it would provide little benefit to the wearer divorced from the Apple system. 

Meanwhile right after they put that info out, Piper Sandler  executives were buying as Apple dipped.

It's a shell game. They gain nothing except what they play inside by manipulating the stock price.

With the current state of insanity between countries - I expect a future where many countries simply don't allow any tech from a foreign country to be used. I don't think we are that far away.
