Clearly Australia needs better Bow and Arrow control laws...
Actually, this shows the futility of gun control laws.  Australia has them in abundance -- and still people find ways to (try to) kill each other.
If weapon control laws are stupid why doesn't the US hand every citizen a nuclear missile and rely on the threat of mutually assured destruction to generate a socially stable society?

  • All the rumors and leaks surrounding the 2019 iPad and iPad mini 5

If the iPad [Budget] went back to a laminated screen and dropped in A11, that would be enough for me and a great value. The nonlaminated screen feels a bit chintzy after yeras of laminated Apple screens. Plus, no antireflective coating on it.
Agreed. The iPad Air 2 was the peak of no-compromise design for its time. Now it’s all too price gougey and too camera bumpy, or just way too thick. In the end I kept my existing Air 2.

I want them to pair the price, camera, and form factor of the Air 2 with the bezel-free display and pencil 2 support of the Pro.

  • Apple says some 2018 iPad Pro units ship with bent chassis, not considered a defect

Apple on Wednesday confirmed "some" 2018 iPad Pro models ship out to consumers with a slightly bent chassis, though the company says the deformation does not degrade performance and is not considered a defect.
Translation: The defect is widespread and would be too expensive for us to acknowledge, retool and replace affected units.

Alternative translation: Apple are first to market with a curved display tablet.

Apple Marketing translation: An iPad so powerful it bends the space-time continuum!

  • Apple, other US tech giants denounce Australian 'anti-encryption' bill

The bill is vague, definitely could lead to abuse of power and only passed parliament because the opposition was afraid that a terrorist incident over the Christmas holiday would be blamed on them for not supporting the bill and jeopardise their chances at the next election.

We don't solve terrorism with backdoors and cyber-snooping. We solve terrorism by addressing the fundamental social inequalities that give rise to it.

  • Deputy AG Rosenstein says companies like Apple are trying to 'defeat legitimate law enforc...

    AppleInsider said:

Services like WhatsApp, Signal, and Telegram also use end-to-end encryption, which law enforcement and spy agencies have complained are sometimes being used by terrorists and other criminals.
What if we resolved terror/crime by addressing the social, political and economic forces that give rise to it?
