  • Apple is late to AR, but it's going to succeed the way it always does

Meh, pretty sure the same thing was said about HomePod. Thing is these niche devices just don't have the same day to day use case that successful Apple products do. Phones/Computers are the original pair of devices that was easy enough for Apple to produce and they kinda sold themselves. On the other hand headphones/watches weren't as ubiquitous, but Apple was successful in making everyone realize they improve the quality of our day to day use of technology. These won't provide that improvement. They'll be a cool tech demo (aka a fad) and then they'll die off.

  • Apple will allow alternative payment systems in South Korea App Store

I'm not surprised.  Apple's payment processing rates are highway robbery.

But what REALLY needs to happen is opening the iPhone to allow app installation from any source of the user's choosing.  I'd have no problem with Apple charging 50% on their store if I could bypass it and install apps without it.
That's already been done, called the trash can OS, go have at with that virus-infested garbage platform if that's what you want.
You referring to the open platform macOS!? Funny, I've been using macOS for decades without it becoming a "virus-infested garbage platform". but you go ahead and keep chugging that kool-aid.

For those arguing about Apple's income for the SDKs, that's why there's a developer fee. Which also allows them to collect from companies/people that only release free or ad based apps.

  • Apple uses Messages colors to bully Android users, says Google

Google really shouldn't be one to talk. The list of proprietary messaging platforms that they've launched and abandoned is absurd. After half a dozen, they couldn't get it done right so just gave up and went to complain about how Apple nailed it on the first try.

  • OmniaBlinds with Eve MotionBlinds review: Thread-enabled window coverings raise the bar

IKEA Fyrtur, absolutely best investment I've ever made (and half the price to boot). We have a two story family room with 5 windows in the upper section and 5 in the lower. Traditional blinds don't work as they'd be stuck in either the open/closed position. We prefer our blinds open most of the time, but close them if we want to watch TV and the sun glare is impacting our view.

The IKEA batteries have lasted me just over a year (down to ~10% on some of the blinds). Issue is the batteries can take a few hours to charge. Rather than go up/down a ladder throughout the day, I grabbed the 5 batteries from the lower section, charged them, and then used them to swap out with the batteries from the upper section. Then I can charge those batteries and put them into the bottom blinds. It's a once a year operation, so no biggie.

  • Apple shifted orders from Foxconn to Luxshare to assist $275B China deal

How is it "values" when the article YOU quoted says they were forced to!?

Intel said it had been "required to ensure that its supply chain does not use any labour or source goods or services from the Xinjiang region" following restrictions imposed by "multiple governments".
