  • Microsoft blames European Commission for global CrowdStrike catastrophe

Nothing to do with Microsoft and everything to do with the EU giving unscrupulous developers unfettered access.

There should be a class action suit against the EU from all counties and corporations as well as all individuals affected.

While cloud strike deserves criticism, it’s not really their fault entirely. Any developer will have mistakes. But the big lawmakers, who are trying to steer the world where they want - bear responsibility for throwing the toddlers into the deep end of the pool and then doing nothing when they can’t swim.

    Reverse these stupid policies.

my issue is, this was not a mistake
if they had tested this on 1 pc, they would have isolated the issue
this was not a case of if you this update MAY cause issues
it would CERTIANLY cause issues since it references  an area of memory that is NOT valid
on ANY windows pc running windows 10 or 11

fi this was an issue with users who had Crowdstrike and a specific version of winzip for example
then it would be a mistake, because they can't account for all software ever released

but this would have caused a freshly formatted windows 10/11 pc to crash, even if it had ZERO added software

  • Apple has big camera upgrades lined up through iPhone 19 Pro

I'm holding out till the iPhone has at least 8 cameras on the back
this 3-4 camera business just won't cut it for me!
and I need at least 8 terrapixel at least, for the front mount camera.
and maybe 200 terrapixels for the back camera
I don't want high res pictures of the  moon
i want mega def photos of Pluto

  • Apple's durability testing is way more than a YouTuber can manage

if you drop an iphone 4 on the ground, it breaks
if you drop an iphone 15 on the ground, it breaks

not belittling the hard work that goes into each gen of gorrila glass
    but whats the benefit?
it still breaks when you drop it
and having a glass back now means i have the 2 largest surfaces that are delicate now

  • Old iPads are a staple in US homes, long after they've gone obsolete

    yes i learnt my lesson
i don't jump IOS versions anymore
i had a perfectly working ipad 2, updated ios and it could not even load the yahoo homepage
    sluggish and unusable
so now i go to the latest of the iOS that came on the device
so if i had iOS 15 i go the last version of that, say 15.9
and never jump to iOS 16

ipads works for ages as they have large all day batteries
so even when they get old, they still work for many hours
great for browsing, checking sports results, streaming etc
the majority of which don't really need the latest and greatest to work
other than gaming and maybe photo/video editing you don't really need  an M4 super max ultra to work
i am still using my 2ng gen ipad pro 11" works great, cuz its still on iOS 15.7.2
i use FB, instagram , some silly games, and browsing.
i rarely, if ever, need to turn on my laptop now

  • Fingers crossed: Spotify might actually launch lossless audio in 2024

    People still use Spotify?
Actually about 3 times as many users  as Apple Music
spotify has more users than Apple Music, Amazon prime, AND YouTube music combined
