  • Apple debuts colorful 24-inch iMac with M1, upgraded camera and audio

Ok, also, this section highlighted below is some bullshit:
Seriously Apple?  You take away Gigabit Ethernet, only give two Thunderbolt/USB4 ports, and no Touch ID on the keyboard?  These are the sorts of compromises you'd expect on the el cheapo version built for K-12, not for a consumer desktop.

lol - that base model *is* the el cheapo version built for K-12, kiosks and other lightweight use.  Not sure what the issue is for you.  They always have a stripped down low end model and this is now that model.  If it was the only one they announced you might have a point but since there are also other ones if you aren't looking for a basic, no frills model your complaint is nonsensical.

Not to be nit-picky but an all black option would have been nice.... or at least space grey perhaps. Also - whats with the power brick - not a fan of separate power supply modules. I know likely why the did it, but in my view just one more brick to sit in my cable management system...
You can plug your ethernet network cord into it, so that is one less cable to the back of the Mac.

I wonder if it's USB or firewire to that port and if third parties could introduce a powerbrick with a full hub with some USB as well as ethernet connections.  I could get A LOT of cables off my desk and under it with just one cable slinking it's way up to the Mac with such a power supply/hub combo.  That would be a real improvement!

Big chin, why? A little thicker and no chin is better IMO.
Apple realized people still use sticky note reminders and thus the chin is needed to keep the screen free and clear.
lol - I wonder if whiteboard dry erase markers will work on it  ;)

Will this keyboard with Touch-ID be available to purchase separately?
Even if it is, I would suspect it will only work with Apple Silicon Macs.  If you have an Intel Mac and want Touch ID - time to upgrade!

Headphone jack is located on the side on the desktop computer???? Who wants speaker cable dangling from the side all the time going to external powered speakers, instead of neatly tucked behind the screen and out of sight?
I think it's an improvement.  With the new built in speakers they are probably way better than the vast majority of external computer speakers out there.  If you are tying into a stereo receiver you're better off sending digital audio over HDMI vs. analog audio over a piddly 3.5mm jack.

If you want to use headphones, on the side is a huge improvement.

You can always get a 3.5mm right angle adapter to minimize what is sticking out if you do want to use with fixed speakers.

Bottom line - For most people this will be a significantly improved user experience.
