From the few brief side-by-side photos, it looked slightly larger than the Xs, which is considerably larger than the 6.

Telling of what? As a developer, I think it's a cool option, but I was waiting to use it for something until it was available on iPads. But if that's not available in the next iPad models, then I guess it never will be.

Bummer. I made a "year in review" book for my family last year, and it took some wrestling with the interface to get it done. But everyone liked the result, so I did it again this year and managed to figure out all the quirks and it went more smoothly. Now I'll have to start over with another company's interface next year.

A smartphone is different because it serves so many functions. I want my daughter to take her phone to school in case we need to coordinate after-school transportation, but she doesn't need access to games during the school day. I also want her to use it to download and read library books, which she often does, especially when her social media allowance is used up for the day. If you simply take the phone away, you lose all the good functions, too.

Personally I'd like a phone with the iPhone X tech (Face ID and camera setup) with a smaller screen size and form factor. With a $1000 phone, I feel compelled to protect it with an Otterbox, and that makes the whole package noticeably larger than an iPhone 8. My wife's iPhone 8 in a minimalist case feels so svelte when I pick it up, and mine feels a bit like a tank in comparison.
