  • You need a backup plan before you move to macOS Catalina

Very timely article. I'm very nervous about this upgrade because they are changing lots of kernel level code. The fact that both of my attempts to try Catalina have failed so badly leaves me very concerned. The original High Sierra beta that rolled out APFS left my Fusion equipped iMac in a horrible state that took a full reinstall to recover from and left me with a bad taste in my mouth about Fusion drives in general. All of my Macs are getting older and big changes don't come easy to them.
Hybrid is always worst of both worlds (or double trouble), never use it.
"Never use it" ?? Probably millions of iMacs have it as the internal HD, as installed by Apple.

As a longtime Mac user: Old likes old, New likes new. Don't upgrade OSs more than a few times and then stop.

  • Comparing the new 13-inch MacBook Pro with the 2017 Function Keys model

I don't want the distracting, glowing touch-bar. (The real reason 'escapes' me.)

And I will need to buy a new, high-end 15" MBP soon.

Maybe with Jony gone, I'll get my wish... maybe even some 'legacy' ports with a thicker base. Give me a choice, Apple!

  • Apple may switch butterfly keyboard for scissor version in MacBook Air

I echo Henrybay... Apple should replace the butterfly keyboard ASAP and banish them completely from the line!

I know I wouldn't buy a 'butterfly' Mac or keyboard. And I'm an 'Apple Guy.'

And let's make the MBP a bit thicker, now that Jony is history, to allow for some more ports so I don't have to carry dongles. I don't mind a solid piece of hardware for my hard-earned money.

  • Apple looks to rejigger Apple News+ as publishers carp over low revenues, 'unfinished' pro...

The two newspapers for which I would buy-in, the New York Times and the Washington Post, are not included.

Lots of women's magazines and fading stars (Time Magazine) though.

I don't think I'd like to read National Geographic on an iPhone.

But I'm sure it will appeal to some (with a lot of time).

  • 2019 MacBook Pro keyboard changes don't look like they're going to do much

Whatever kind of keyboard my mid-2010 15" MBP has.... Apple should go back to it.

9 years of lots of typing. It's great; no problems.

(I don't use it in a sandpit though, and I don't dump liquids in it...)
