  • Congress members demand Apple exit China in letter to Tim Cook

All four are Republicans. All four voted against an investigation of the January 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. That gives you an idea of how deep their support of "democratic principles" actually goes.
That’s because the investigation into January 6 is nothing but a sham. It’s just another election issue for the Democrats. Believe me, they don’t want what really happened coming out. It wasn’t an insurrection. It wasn’t an attempt to overthrow the government. It was a few hundred idiots who got out of control, some bad actors and even some on the other side of the political spectrum who infiltrated the group. There were no weapons found. It was planned mostly on Twitter and Facebook. None of the fatalities had anything to do with violence. This is just an excuse to continue locking down the capitol and silence conservatives.  We can expect more of this as we approach the midterms. The Democrats know it is likely to be an electoral bloodbath for them.
Wow! You know, there is a distinct difference between stupidity and ignorance. Stupidity is the lack of capacity to know or understand. Whereas ignorance is a lack of knowledge or understanding. But the most malignant form of cancer in this country is willful ignorance - “I don’t care what the truth is, this is what I believe!”

    Perfect case in point.

  • DOJ opposes TikTok request stall download ban, calls ByteDance CEO 'mouthpiece' for CCP

It is good to live in a country with an independence justice system but when it comes to the national security, Court should respect president's decision to ban Tik-Tok. If US Court system can not understand national security issue and support own president than how can anyone trust if other critical national issue comes in front of the Court to decide and make the right decision..
NOT THIS PRESIDENT - he wouldn't know the truth if it hit him over the head! And the orange clown understanding national security? Hilarious!

This whole subject is utter nonsense and just plain stupid! US apps like google, facebook and twitter capture tremendous amounts of data which is available to the government (NSA most certainly has found ways to access, and of course through subpoenas!) What's even crazier is that it is for sale through their advertising model.

The orange clown is only doing this to continue to paint China as the enemy to deflect from his own incompetence.

  • Apple plays consumer safety card in 'Right to Repair' fight

    elijahg said:
Yeah, no one is going to buy that. If you harm yourself through a phone repair, it's entirely your fault. People have a right to fix and modify their own car, and if they're dumb enough to make a modification that causes them harm that's their own stupid fault. Also unlike with a phone, the risk of their mistake harming or even killing another person is much higher, and yet it's still allowed.
So if you repair / replace iPhone battery yourself and screw it up so it shorts out mid flight, catches fire, and the plane is forced to make an emergency landing, it’s just “your own stupid fault”, right? Please do tell the airline, the FAA and all the other passengers how stupid you are.

  • Apple's App Store policies again under fire as Kaspersky Lab files Russian antitrust compl...

There has to be a system of checks and balances. The idea that Apple can do whatever it wants with its own platform isn’t good enough. That is just a copout and a way to circumvent fairness, openness, and possibly even the law.

If you want to have a platform and pretend to make it available to everyone, it has to actually be available to everyone, without various anti competitive practices that prevent any one particular company or group or political ideology from exposure. Let the market handle it, not the whims of a few people in Cupertino.
What bullshit! If you don’t like the policies, just get android / develop for android. Apple owns the OS and the App Store so you need to play by their rules. They didn’t have to let any third party apps on their system! And they have lots of apps in their store that compete with their own so that argument doesn’t hold water.
