  • Apple expected to launch AR Glasses in early 2020

    bring it

anyone who doubts what AR is going to do simply doesn’t understand it well enough.

apple had everything in place, the 11 series with reality composer presents content silky smooth.

does it have a long way to go, yes it does. this is going to be a bit apple newton compared to an ipad pro but without that newton...

What "format" is being used instead of XML? There are many open data structures that are available so it would be so lame if Apple chose data structure that is proprietary for themselves.
i don’t know, but the article xml is Available. So Apple is not opposed to using the format. Probably as with most modern applications it is an API

  • Review: macOS Catalina 10.15 is what Apple promised the Mac could be, and is a crucial upg...

DED, thank you for your unreadable level of detail, as once again it is the details that matter in subjects like the OS.

I have been gripping on to Quicktime 7 Pro for so many year due to its import image sequence function. Fearing the day if would finally be ripped from my cold dead hands. Only you would bother to report that Apple has finally added into their modern QTP.

Does it also allow for the saving of files in the amazing QT reference format, that just references where the media is instead of embedding it in the .mov?

    I will see soon enough.

My take away from this article is that it is time to wipe my Mac and do a clean install, there is so much deep transformational stuff going on with this release, one does not want to glue it up with the past.

last pondering - what is happening with the file storing of media, given the splitting of iTunes? Are the folders being messed with, are there issues for people who store libraries out of the main user folder?

thank you for the detail and for the record i read almost all of it, skipping things like reminders which i do not use.

  • Tip: How to get more from Control Center in iOS 13

control centre was great before Apple decided to shove in the far top right corner of the display.

On Friday I finally upgraded from the last great iPhone, the 6s to woeful user experience of the iPhone 11 Pro.

I chose that model and paid $1000AUD more, just to get something close in size.

Size it seems doesn’t matter when the combination of Face ID, ignorance of handed-ness, placing things at the very extremities of the display and making a device with no obvious up absolutely reliant on its orientation - totally undermines UI and UX.

Every function of the OS on the Notch/Face ID generation of phones is less time efficient and more physically cumbersome.

even the lauded true tone display is worse, with screen colour altering constantly not only at the slightest variation of ambient colour temp but with even the most subtle movement of the hand creating a shimmering display.

this is the worst iphone ever made; yes with the best sound, best camera and best battery. thing is none of those 3 things are what you engage per transaction with the device. what you do engage is security, screen and user interface.

control centre went from fast, great and one handed to a multi handed physically unstable out of the way experience that creates a drop risk and causes biomechanical over strain.
