subscription, or recurring income models are now considered mandatory by venture capitalists and it shows.
it is getting difficult to find even the most basic apps without a subscription paywall. for example, taking a photo and straightening it as a page scanner (in iOS for free).
prices are outrageous and it is generally unclear what you get. subscriptions are the new scam. even more so because of how obscure and layered Apple makes it to manage your subscriptions. It is a little easier in iOS13, but still out of the way for the average bear. -
