  • DuckDuckGo could have been Apple's private search engine

Sa change it after the initial setup.  It’s hilarious reading the faux outrage out in the community like it’s some kind of massive conspiracy.  It only takes seconds.  I couldn’t care less if it doesn’t give me that choice at setup.  Why stop at default search?  Why not inundate the customer with every conceivable iOS choice at setup then?

find something else to whine about.

So, the same version of the same app isn't a problem on earlier iPhones or iOS versions.

But it's somehow that app's fault?

    Nope.  This is on Apple.
Have you always been this inept, or was it an acquired trait?

  • Ex-Apple employee files RICO lawsuit over whistleblower retaliation

Given Apple's recent unethical treatment of workers who want to unionise, I'll be interested to see what evidence she has that she was unfairly dismissed, et al.

I have healthy doubt that everything she's claiming will stand up to scrutiny, but likewise I doubt that Apple has been completely above-board about this termination as well.
That "unethical treatment of workers  who want to unionize" are allegations, and allegations made by their lawyers and union heads.  To my knowledge, nothing has been proven.

  • Satechi Thunderbolt 4 Multimedia Pro Dock: A true 16-port powerhouse

Satechi docks have been nothing but trash over the years in our offices.  Unstable drivers, compatibility issues.  Even if Satechi (maybe) resolved those problem, I will not touch them ever again.

Went with Caldigit and all was well in the village again.

  • Investors are overreacting to China iPhone ban news, says Morgan Stanley

The US government banned Huawei and ZTE devices because they are too insecure.

The Chinese government banned Apple devices because they are too secure.

While it was a tit-for-tat response, it also fits into China's "social credit system" in which the government assigns demerits for "antisocial" behavior. With enough demerits, antisocial citizens are locked out of jobs, prevented from travel, and from making purchases.

You can expect China to pressure Apple to give the government more access to iPhone data or to see pressure to discourage Apple purchases. They may even give citizens demerits for owning Apple devices.

The Chinese government wants absolute access to citizens' private lives.

That said, many other countries have the same ideas, including Russia, India, North Korea, and Belarus, but do not yet have the technology to pull it off.
I will be many of China's political figures will continue using iPhones for the fact that it's so secure, but won't admit it publicly.
