  • Apple debuts colorful 24-inch iMac with M1, upgraded camera and audio

    Who uses Ethernet ?
I do.  Both my office iMac, and my home iMac are both using Ethernet.  It will always be better and more secure than WiFi.

I'm surprised folks like you still bring up that question.

The moment I read "Western District of Texas", I dismiss this lawsuit.  Anything being filed at the center of patent-troll central is BS as far as I'm concerned.
Dismiss it if you want to. Qualcomm and Apple will wind up paying big money to these leeches. The big question is why other phone makers who use Qualcomm modems aren’t getting sued too. Maybe this article didn’t check into it.
I suspect they will go after Apple first, being the one with the deepest pockets and if they win, the others will be quick to settle.

  • Intel wants to manufacture Apple Silicon

Do we remember the times in which Apple made the chips in Samsung's factories and Samsung copied the technology?
They copied the ads… Why not the chips?
(They copy so wrongly the ads that the future of their chip is in serious condition.)
Samsung copied the iPhone, not Apple's chips.  Samsung semiconductor did get caught passing Apple's agreements to Samsung Mobile, given Samsung a heads-up on what Apple was planning next.

  • California siblings plead guilty to stealing 800 MacBooks worth $2.3 million

How did they get away with it for so long and how were they caught?
This Stanford Review article about the theft might shed some light.  Apparently, they were able to get away with it for so long because - as usual - the bloated budget and lack of accountability and process-review gave the thieves the opportunity they needed to essentially hide the thefts in plain view.

  • Apple nailed the transition to M1 Apple Silicon. Why are so many Mac developers blowing it...

As a developer myself the answer is clear.  Many software shops, developers, coders, etc... will procrastinate until the absolute last moment to get off their backsides and do something.  As long as they know that Rosetta exists, many won't bother.  That's the reality.

The only way these slackers will do anything is when Apple announces the end of Rosetta.

Procrastination aside, if these developers aren't getting revenue from their current software offerings, they're kind of in a bind as well.  Will someone that purchased their software be expected to get an M1-native version free of charge?  Will the developer get skewered for asking existing customers to essentially re-purchase their apps?
