  • Apple Hearing Study rings the alarm on tinnitus

I suffered from tinnitus 24/7 for all my adult years.  At times it was unbearable.

A few years ago, I did a sleep study as I had severe sleep apnea.  They prescribed me a CPAP machine and not only did my snoring go away, but so did my tinnitus.  My lack of sleep all these years and the problems associated with it seemed to be my cause.

  • macOS Sonoma update fixes USB hubs, Java crashes, and more

Does anyone still use Java for anything ?
Yes.  Java is used quite extensively outside your little bubble of ignorance.  All our corporate workstations run Java for enterprise apps.

  • Latest macOS Sonoma update is breaking some USB hubs in monitors

MacOS Sonoma has been the worst MacOS release for Intel-based machines ever.  I'm still on MacOS 14.2 because each point-release update has result in bricking my 2020 iMac and my having to reinstall MacOS, and only with a USB install drive.  Headlines like these makes me wonder if Apple has abandoned any real QC checks with Intel machines.  For the first time ever, I'm seriously considering downgrading my iMac to macOS Monterey as it was completely stable.

It's a disgrace in my book.  Apple really dropped the ball here.

  • Epic's Tim Sweeney is mad about Apple's EU App Store concessions

As a developer myself, the 30% fee is chump change when you consider what us developers had to do prior to the App Store, and prior to the modern smartphone.  We had to advertise our software, handle payments, and provide packaged software products, etc... it was hard.  For Apple, its bread-and-butter are the customers that buy its products and works hard to keep those customers coming back for more.  Customers are where Apple keeps its focus on, NOT developers.  Developers have the privilege of accessing hundreds of millions of those hard-earned customers on a platform that is provided, maintained, and improved upon BY Apple.  Developers nowadays have it easy, yet a vocal few demand that Apple provide that entire infrastructure for free.  Screw you.  You're an embarrassment to us legit developers.

Those losers essentially want the iPhone to be like Android.  Good luck with that.

  • Satechi Thunderbolt 4 Multimedia Pro Dock: A true 16-port powerhouse

Satechi docks have been nothing but trash over the years in our offices.  Unstable drivers, compatibility issues.  Even if Satechi (maybe) resolved those problem, I will not touch them ever again.

Went with Caldigit and all was well in the village again.
