  • Apple Pro Display XDR wins display of the year award

I'm a developer, don't do video, but tried one and found my 5-year old Benq 32-inch IPS was easier on the eyes for off-axis viewing.
Huh?  Why is eye strain from off-axis viewing particularly relevant?  Do you often work with your screen turned away from you?
I'm a huge Apple fan, but blind fandom is just as irritating.  Look at all the reviews of this monitor.  Sure, looks great when staring straight at it, but the monitor being so big, one is going to be seeing the edges at an angle and it's fair to say the monitor gets a bit washed out when viewed from an angle.  This is a genuine problem.  When I saw it in person, I loved the monitor but that off-angle issue needs to be resolved.

  • Apple confirms unreleased AirTags in own support video

This will be a boon in locating stolen belongings when a robbery occurs.  If AirTags can ping any iPhone in the wild - natively - it will be a game changer.  I'll buy a bunch of AirTags for my high-priced items and will feel much better than if someone puts it in their bag/car/etc, anyone in the area with an iPhone will ping that location back to me.  Awesome.

This is the problem with Tile.  One has to have the app installed which means a very, very small, minuscule percentage of users will even use it making it worthless to me.

My neighborhood has experienced quite a few garage break-ins and some of the thieves I believe are from the victim's immediate vicinity.  Native AirTags would make retrieval of stolen items so much easier and hopefully result in more arrests.

  • In Cuba, Apple's presence is at the margins

I was in Cuba when Fidel Castro passed way in November of 2016.  It was surreal to see so many anti-U.S.A. propaganda billboards everywhere, while at the same time accepting me (and my money) with open arms.  The Cuban people were some of the nicest people I've met.  The disparity between the poor and elite is so obvious, with corruption everywhere.  It's amazing anything ever gets done in that country.

  • China's Coronavirus will impact Apple's business - but how much is unknown

Current panic in the stock market just reinforces the FACT that it runs on fear and greed. Along with the survivalists who are heading for their bunkers as we speak, investors are scrambling to unload their securities and bury their gold in the back yard. Amazing times we live in with all these apocalypses at our front door. Time for a Guinness, a lawn chair and an umbrella to watch the show as social media dooms us to oblivion.
And knowing this, I have profited greatly by it.  I always load up on AAPL during those times and plan on doing it again.

I also bought PG&E stock a couple months back with it tanked due to the fires.  Needless to say, I laughed to the bank. :)

While it's sad that stock valuation has little to do with the performance of the company, it also makes it easy for those with teeth to be in the game knowing how emotion, panic, and flat-out greed now runs the market.

  • Apple working on radical iMac redesign using single sheet of glass

I'm ready for a new iMac and have been waiting for an re-designed one.  My preference would be an iMac that mimics the XDR display on some level, XDR screen size & resolution, etc... I'm really hoping it is released in 2020.

This patent design if fugly.  I hope it stays in the design phase.
