  • Meta lured AI exec away from Apple with blockbuster $200M pay package

    Facebook overpays for everything.
It also shows that Apple intelligence isn’t far enough in development to need him right now. The trade off of having a robust model to give you what you want comes at the cost of understanding more about you and that runs afoul of Apple’s privacy policies. Plus mixing it with Siri has made it much worse because of how it’s been cobbled together from the beginning. Add HomeKit and you have one giant steaming pile.

  • Apple plans low-cost MacBook based on iPhone processor

It could be actually pretty decent if you take the processor from the 16e and put it into a laptop. Hell you could basically just put the logic board in there and add more ram to it and leave the modem and it would get decent geekbench numbers and great battery life.
From looking at the geekbench scores, the A18 in the 16e is almost as powerful as the M1 MacBook Air. Just give it more ram.

  • Easter egg image uncovered in Power Mac G3 ROM after 27 years

Easter eggs were always fun. I used to put them in my shareware. I made it easier to find so even with my limited market users would find them and get back to me and other users. Too bad Jobs ended the tradition. Maybe it has been revived?
Oh I bet if you know where to look, and have the right tools, you can find some. I think they stay secret to the people who find them so the employees don’t get into trouble. Although maybe with all the outsourcing of talent overseas, there might not be.

  • 20 years of Apple Ring rumors continue with leaker's lament

More and more people are wearing both, in my observations. I’ve asked a few, and some were Apple
employees at a store near me. They all have said that it gives them important data that the watch doesn’t. They also said they don’t have to charge it as frequently as the watch.

  • Latest App Store crypto lawsuit tries to blame Apple for bad user decisions

I will say that responsibility falls on the user.  Can't blame anyone else.

That being said, it irritates the hell out of me that Apple's App Store has so much garbage apps and that Apple allows such apps to even exist on the App Store.
This has been a complaint for years and yet no improvement in the situation. It could have been a benefit for Apple to hire more auditors to keep the App Store as safe as possible and create a huge benefit to developers to keep their apps in Apple’s app store
and show the EU that they’re more vigilant in preventing issues like this than 3rd party app stores. Instead, they’ve allowed betting apps in the store which is something more than likely Steve would have never approved of.
