  • Apple having trouble finding ex-iOS head Scott Forstall for Epic testimony

Scott,  hold up three fingers and tell Apple to read between the lines.

  • Facebook will drop ban on news pages in Australia

News Corp owns 70% of print media in Oz, and 100% in my home state. All this is about the government paying back Murdoch for winning them the last election.
    How flaming ignorant!

Even if this comment is true, the Australian Federal Government's dispute with Fakebook and Giggle, was all about on-line news, NOT print media ... doh!  The Fakebook and Giggle gorillas have been pinching (i.e. steeling) quality journalists work, having that news being displayed on their sites like it is theirs and not paying for the stuff.

Hey, why don't you let me go into your garage take your car and drive it around town hanging out the windows like it's mine !!  But I think there is a law about that ??

  • Google developing all-in-one messaging app for businesses

I am 'forced' to use Google for some of the businesses I work with.  But would not touch ANYTHING they provide with a 10 foot pole otherwise.  I recently removed Chrome from my wife's machine as the only Google thing on our personal machines.  She was getting weird emails that 'knew' what sites she had visited.

Who in their right mind would engage with Google on anything that was important and sensitive to them.

It's like allowing some Chinese company to build you patented product (without absolute strict control over production which included hiding the "secret sauce" so it can't be copied).

  • Ring's app caught spying on users, sharing data with third-parties

Tried August, but was not going to pay a regular rent check to some company to keep my private video data on their servers.  I will certainly not trust Google (are you kidding me) Amazon or anyone else with my private info.

This is my solution.  It's a bit more expensive up front, built out of solid metal, with a great lens and lots of features, by one of the early leaders in IP cameras, is infinitely configurable and works with MY server.

  • Review: Razer's Nommo Pro speakers are beautiful overkill, but need better Mac support

This is my Mac speaker of choice. Which I use.  Walks all over anything Razer can do.  Ridiculously expensive, but if you spend a lot of time at a desk, 2 of these are worth every penny.
