Party's over: Apple tries to shrink costs of Apple TV+ productions
After several free trials, I subscribed to Apple TV+ because the quality of the shows was good but these days with the flood of content I find myself mostly watching old series like Perry Mason and Gunsmoke on MeTV and YouTube videos about camping. I piggy back on my sister’s Prime but the only things I watch on that are old shows and again, I haven’t watched anything on it for probably over a month now.
I think a lot of it has to do with the old “Paradox of Choice” conundrum where if you have so many choices you end up not watching anything at all consistently. Plus, living in a northern state, I watch a lot more in the winter than I do in the summer. One thing I do find frustrating is that you never know when the next season is going to drop. Maybe others have figured it out but I haven’t. -

Apple offers a first look at upcoming Messages via satellite feature
I go on remote trips with my dog and satellite communication is great to have. One time we were on a kayaking trip at Lake Powell and I could see the weather changing. We made it back to camp and I messaged (using InReach) to my sister asking about the weather. The forecast she found said it would be rain showers but it turned out to be much heavier. Far, far heavier. Being in a canyon at night all I could do was wait. The rain intensified and I started hearing a roar. A flash flood had started. When I got up in the morning we were surrounded by waterfalls. We picked just the right spot to set up the tent. You can see all the waterfalls a little after the 8:20 mark in this video -
