I'm not happy with but am ok with the limited number of Homekit accessories given the breaches in other home device security. (e.g. Ring cameras)

Apple Maps, Weather app now shows Crimea as Russian territory
I typed in Simferopol on maps on my iPhone and it just takes me to Simferopol without ousting any country. When I have maps take me to the location it takes me to Simferopol, Crimea without showing a country.

New German law mandates opening up Apple Pay NFC tech to rivals
When I read the headline, I thought it was a stretch to require Apple share Apple Pay technology. However, reading the article, the law requires Apple allow access for third parties be able to access the NFC chip. That seems reasonable. Disclosure, I own Apple stock.

How Apple's dramatic rise in computing flipped an OS myth
In the late 1990s I was quite involved with maintaining the computers in my office. At home I was looking at alternatives such as IBM’s OS2 (was that the name?) and OpenStep which was the successor of NextStep when NeXT gave up on hardware. I even had OpenStep running on my home computer. I was impressed.In 2000 I quit my job and and took my 401k with me giving me a wider range of investment options. Most of my money sat idle for a year or so while I took care of my Mom but I allocated things when I could after that. I put some in Apple stock because Apple by that time owned NeXT and I knew what was coming. My timing was good not for that but because I bought before the introduction of the iPod. Over time NeXTStep/OpenStep became the operating system for all of Apple’s devices because it is so versatile.Sometimes you can be right for the wrong reason but I’m ok with that.

Regardless, this is not good news for Intel. As companies realize ARM chips are the better solution for laptops, that is going to cut into Intel production.
