Well, watching those two promo videos was a waste of time, especially the second one.

  • 'Proton' Mac trojan has Apple code-signing signatures, sold to 'customers' for $50K

"Sixgill advises the malware's creator managed to get the code signed by Apple, suggesting it has managed to pass through Apple's rigorous filtration process for third-party software developers. It is believed the developer has either falsified their registration to the Apple Developer ID Program or used stolen credentials, in order to get through the signing process. "
Sorry, but this paragraph is pretty misleading. The process to get a macOS gatekeeper code signing certificate through "Apple's rigorous filtration process" is to manage to make a $99 payment in the online store and provide a piece of id that looks about right. See https://developer.apple.com/programs/enroll/ to get an idea of what you need, but I can promise that you don't need to be a criminal mastermind to obtain a code signing certificate that doesn't link back to you.
No. There is more to it than that. I was an Apple app developer for years and even though I had a decade long history with them they did a background check on me and my company before issuing the DSA keys. I'm guessing that the keys this guy has were probably stolen. Possibly a developer sub contracted some development and passed the keys to the sub contractor and employee at the sub contractor passed them on.

  • Apple rumored to start construction on second Belgian store in Bruges

Great city. I went there in my college days in 1984 and found it to be a very charming place.

  • How to get more Aerial Apple TV videos or change your screensaver outright

I am going to finally get around to buying an AppleTV 4. The 2nd Gen in the basement is getting long in the tooth (e.g., the YouTube app is gone), so I have to bite the bullet.

This is the FIRST EVER Apple product purchase that I can recall where I am going, "meh."

The only question I have is whether I should save $50, i.e., whether a 32GB will suffice...
I have one each of Apple TV versions 2, 3, and 4. I installed the Kodi hack on the 2 version so I now have YouTube, MeTV, and local files for viewing. You may want to give that a try.

You will like the 4 version. Having a swipe option, dictation, and installable apps is nice. I also installed an app for viewing local files.

Between the options I cut off cable tv. Instead of buying a new Apple TV have you considered the ATT Apple TV offer? I don't know if it is still available. It was something like pay for three months of service and get an ATV 4 for free. The three month total was less cost than buying a new ATV 4 and you get three months of service.

Looks like the offer expired but the page is still up. When I click on the redeem button it takes me to a seven day free signup
