  • Apple Music loses hip-hop and R&B curator to Spotify

Does that mean curation loses it bias to hip hop and rap?

    Hip Hip Hooray!
I do my own curation because anybody born after 1965 hasn't a clue about what I might like (hip hop and rap are definitely not on my list of favorites).

  • Apple bringing in more labor to cope with surge of iPhone battery replacements

I have read a couple of articles now about people freaking out over their batteries and replacing them needlessly. After the discount period is over it is predicted that the new battery health monitoring software will prompt even more unnecessary battery replacements to Apple’s ultimate profit. I see the obsessive personality types all the time in the Apple discussion forums going bonkers over minor scratches on their screens. There will be large numbers who start checking their battery health every day and if the capacity level drops below 100% will absolutely freak out and quite possibly imagine a slowdown in their device. How many of these personalty types are out there? Millions upon millions is my guesstimate. Humans are weird.
So true. In reality this is people just freaking out over nothing. My battery (2 yr old SE) is at 91%. Haven't noticed any change in perfrmance. It does what I want and that's all I demand of it.
Same here.  I bought my SE within a week of launch, and have 90% of original capacity (glad to see someone else getting the same kind of life).  I'm no longer able to drive (legally blind) land have little need for mobile communications.  That said I've been lusting after the iPhone X since it came out (been an iPhone user since day one and old buying/upgrade habits are hard to break).

  • iPhone unlocking tool GrayKey sees increased use across all levels of law enforcement

Apple should eliminate the codes and stick with just Touch ID and Face ID
No consumer device will ever be 100% secure.  Let's agree on that.  The deterrent for many will in the difficulty of breaking into an iPhone.

One thing I'm confident of is that Apple will continue to harden iPhone security, but then the iPhone cracking industry will continue as well.  Cat and Mouse.
Correct.  Where there is a will there is a way, provided you have the time and money to do it.  The key to cracking an iPhone is possession of the device.  Given that a 6 digit numeric code takes 3 days to crack I would venture that is more than long enough to remotely wipe the device clean.

If Apple were ever able to implement an alpha/numeric/character password on an iOS device, cracking time would increase to months.

I, for one, am happy with 6 numeric, mainly because I can't imagine that there is anything on my iPhone/iPad that somebody would want so much, that they would spend $15,000 (minimum) for a device to crack it.

  • Apple cuts HomePod orders on weak demand, report says

I like my HomePod. It does what I need it to and sounds amazing when playing music. IMO, It is easily the best siri experience across all the Apple products.

I kind of have the same feeling as I had about Apple Watch.
I like mine as well, and while may not be as good as others expect it should be I haven’t had any problems with it.

What at I don’t understand is why so much credence is given to negative comments by people that don’t even own one.

declaring HomePod a failure, based on nothing, after less than 3 months on the market is just plain stupid. Those “in the know” said the same thing about the Mac, iPod, iPhone, iPad, AirPods, and Apple Watch using the same primary arguments (price is to high, doesn’t work, Apple is playing catch-up). Look how wrong they were, and continue to be.
