  • After years of research, an Apple smart ring may be imminent

Fanboi’s will go crazy! It will be so thin you won’t be able to see it from the side, it will have a 3 min battery life, will be made of a wonderful new material that they have been developing for this purpose for 32 years and Apple has been testing how people put a ring on and take it off for the past 13 years to maximize the user experience, it will come in a 6x4 box to enhance the unboxing experience. They will have no idea what they actually hope people will use the ring for but hope that early adopters will help them find that out. It will cost $4,595.00. It has the capability of running all iOS and iPad apps though Netflix and YouTube will not supported it while Disney has already prepped their entire catalogue to be viewed on the ring. Tim Cook will announce it using the word “amazing” 47 times in the unveiling. Apple stock will go up 3.7% on the day. There will be weeks of articles on AppleInsider speculating on the ring return rate.
I'd maybe consider switching to a less caffeinated morning drink.

  • Apple has big and cartoonish plans for Vision Pro's EyeSight

This is really amazing. It goes to show you that this device really has so much possibility. It's so much more than just a higher DPI headset. Immersive experiences, interactive games, and VR are all great and that's what all the other headsets offer. Meanwhile, Apple Vision Pro has advanced input and so many more ways to engage with the device. As frivolous as it sounds to put tiger eyes on the front of the device, the fact that we're even talking about how to communicate with others physically outside the device is what sets this on another level.

  • Apple Vision Pro hands-on roundup: Weighty with a clunky virtual keyboard, but great overa...

I can't help but miss Steve Jobs' approach. When Apple released the iPhone he said it well, "An iPod, a phone and an internet communicator. An iPod, a phone -- are you getting it? These are not separate devices. This is one device. And we are calling it iPhone." I understood what it was for and immediately understood why I would eventually have one, unlike the Vision Pro.

The reviewer quoted above says it well that they really don't understand its purpose. It might be a better FaceTime but I don't really use FaceTime *that* much. It might be a veritable unlimited real estate for computing but my two monitors are pretty fine and I like being able to look out the window and into the distance. It might be a better movie watching experience but I really enjoy watching with others. OK, maybe I can soon watch with family and friends around the world, and that might be nice. Maybe one day I'll think that desktop monitors are limiting, and joining a Teams or Zoom call is too confining, and 2D photos (even the awesome Live Photos) doesn't begin to capture the moment, and games couldn't really become 3D until you could turn your head to really be in it, and training is improved with more immersive "hands-on".

This device is practically pregnant with possibilities and I wish Apple and the Vision Pro team the best, I really do. It looks like some stunning kit. It'll be awesome to see this get into the hands of the public so we can begin to understand what "the next era in spatial computing" does for us.

  • Apple won't send reviewers a Vision Pro without briefings, says Gurman

Probably isn't going to be so special if you have to worry so much about negative reviews.

Regardless, this device will probably be well received, but it wouldn't be an iPhone replacement. Not for the next decade.
What a strange comment. Apple isn’t promoting Vision Pro as an iPhone replacement. So yeah, it’s not going to be an iPhone replacement it also won’t replace the Apple Watch, your car, oven and shower.
You've given me an idea. Shower app for VisionOS coming.

  • Ming-Chi Kuo: Investors should be cautious about Apple Vision Pro launch hype

All tech companies have said something along the lines of "We aren't always first but we bring the best" and I think this will be the best consumer launch for a VR/AR product. Apple device owners will love the familiarity of the eco-system and even non-Apple device owners will love the advancements that this is making.

I think the big questions are how fast this can be adopted or whether it will be successful with a very narrow target audience. iPhones are for everyone which is why this is the foundation product for the company. After that you quickly get into a funnel of customers. Laptops, tablets, smartwatches, not everyone needs these. Apple can make it relevant by showing us more ways we can use it for work, meetings, catching up with others. If it helps with productivity, if there's a network effect then it's going to attract more interest.
