  • Apple's 12-inch MacBook may be coming closer to a rebirth

I loved my 12 inch, still have it, still works ( has a bump due to battery)
With an m series processor and a decent keyboard would be fantastic. Even if they kept a single usb-c, but with a MagSafe as well.
No doubt, the MB 12" at 2 lbs was a truly fantastic portable computer, and with the M series it would now be fantastically powerful to boot.  I don't understand why Apple calls the current 13" MB an "Air" when it's effectively as heavy as the MBP13. The original Air was called that because it was lightweight.

  • New 15.5-inch MacBook Air rumored to arrive in early 2023

On the naming front, I'm in total agreement with those who don't see a reason for dragging along the "Air" moniker any more when simply calling it a MacBook is totally sufficient. Same thing on the iPad side of things. The early versions of the Air named products were somewhat niche because you knew you're were giving up a little something just to put maximum focus on lightness, portability, and minimalism.

The whole Air moniker makes no sense.  They had the 12" MacBook that was 2 lbs while the 13" Air is 2.8 and the 13" MBP is 3.0, and the 14" MBP 3.5.  I was hoping for a 12-13" M2 Air that came in at around 2 lbs again - and could have outperformed the 16" Intel MBP that had been 4.3 lbs.  The fact that the 16" M1 gained weight ending up at 4.8lbs doesn't fill me with high hopes for a 15.5" Air, best case we could end up just over 4 lbs based on the other machines in the lineup.

loved my 12" MacBook as a portable - just toss it in a bag without worrying about whether it's worth bringing along - and with an M2 it would have been a killer replacement and machine in general. 🤷‍♂️ (I really like my 14" MBP too, fantastic machine, but as a portable the 12" MacBook was just perfection.)

  • SUV crashes through Apple Store, kills one, injures many more

Of course we’ll have to wait for details but his happens more than you think with elderly or disabled people behind the wheel. They hit the gas instead of the brake and off they go right into the front of a store. Just happened in my town a few weeks ago.
A high-70's neighbor drove through the back of his garage, also thought he was on the brake. No idea if that's what happened here, but accidents do happen as well.

  • US convicted a Chinese spy with help from an iCloud backup

Spies don’t realize , cloud storage is not your own. China is not sending their best.I hope the CIA is not making foolish mistakes like this
Nah, the CIA & NSA are too busy collecting information on US citizens illegally to have time to make incriminating iCloud backups.

  • Apple testing App Store feature that automatically opts users in to price hikes

Wonder if it's related to the high inflation rate or just a gift to big subscription services.
