  • Here are all the Apple Pay banks added during 2018 and 2019

And how come that Home Depot STILL does not accept ApplePay ??!?!?

  • 20 Years of iMac: Steve Jobs iconic internet machine that courageously reinvented Apple

p.s. on Mini: as a developer (some in the office, some at home) my home setup was a MacPro of about 2011 vintage. Great expandability but noisy. But dual 23" Cinema Displays were great for coding/debugging/etc.

I bought a Mini about the time I retired - 2012 quad-core i7. About as quick as the MacPro for everyday use and *completely silent*. But everything seems to get slower with age - "bit rot" maybe ? So I've revved the Mini now with 16GB memory and 1 TB SSD boot drive, plus a separate 1 TB HDD for my rather large music collection. This is WAY faster than the Mac Pro ever was, and probably faster than today's dual-core-only Minis.

In fact, my brother-in-law last month bought a similar (used) quad i7 Mini and set it up in a similar configuration. I just wish that Apple would make something better to follow on with - today's Mini is NOT it.

Cubes were great but way too expensive. I bought (and still have :) two once the price dropped. But I DO take issue with the Mini-is-also-a-failure line. Far from it. But it has been rather pointedly ignored by Apple - quite a mistake in my opinion.

  • Apple bought back a record $23.5B of AAPL shares in Q1 as Wall Street peddled "full panic ...

The part I don't understand is that these "analysts" seem to retain the credibility even though they're routinely wrong about Apple. Every quarter they peddle the same old **** and each time they're wrong. Interestingly, this doesn't happen much with discussion of other companies - a bit but not much. With those, analysts are pilloried and ignored after a series of incorrect/dumb/boneheaded calls. So why the difference with Apple? Anyone - why only with Apple ??

  • Apple could be hit by Korean FTC for shifting iPhone burdens to local carriers

The real question is not "who pays for what" but "how is the profit divided up". It's perfectly reasonable for carriers to pay for advertising IF Apple's price to them recognizes that. If Apple pays for advertising then probably their price to carriers is higher. The real issue is who gets how much profit - pure and simple. The "how" is merely a distraction.
