Right. Also, I’m not clear on how that bolsters Qualcomm’s case. It seems like they were the only game in town and still decided to abuse that position. 

And all of the tech blogs have the same shoddy reporting and reader reactions. Not sure if it's symptomatic of Apple tech blogs or just tech bloggers' inability to analyze legal proceedings.

Keep in mind at the time Waze was not a great mapping app, but getting full access to the Google APIs made it so. Waze requires constant user attention, it's distracting and not a great fit for Apple's vision, but it is perfect for Google.

This is a good point and the reason why I tried Waze for a few hours and then bailed on it. I found Waze to be just too dangerous to fully utilize while driving. Like all Android software, there are too many tweaks, alerts and hands-on time required instead of just focusing on what users really want and need.

This is the first sign of Apple not only interested in the hardware and construction of an automobile, but also the integration of driver and self-driving vehicle. Seems like a pointless patent even if it's purely defensive. By the time any of this tech will be produced, it will probably be illegal for human drivers to operate their vehicles on public roads.

If your theory was true, CNN would be following the money and rolling in it. They are not. They are a business but run through journalistic interests which never pans out into real dollars. This is because journalists are always inclined to uncover and report on corruption from the ones in power, the real corrupt moneymakers. But even if you decide not to believe the real reasons, the fact that Trump claims that only Fox is the real news and every other organization critical of him is fake news should be enough for you.

There hasn't been a discernible difference in smartphone speed for years. That's why these silly benchmarks are the only data points left to report.
