  • Australia's Women's Cricket Team uses Apple Watch to train

Didn’t know that our cricket team was doing this. The feature set for Apple is still not complete in Australia though, we are nearly at the release of the next Apple Watch and ECG still no available afaik

looking at the dial readout, seems similar to watch Garmin offer from a running perspective.

A design is not an art. A design has to fit on a useful thing. This is what Ive missed after the passing of Jobs.
    This is completely incoherent.
I had no trouble. Just because somethings pretty doesn’t make it useful. Whether that applies to Ives work is debatable - but the keyboard thing seemed to be an answer to a question that wasn’t asked. Trash can Mac Pro probably another.

Otherwise his design has been amazing in my view.

  • Apple says Trump tariffs would 'tilt the playing field' in favor of competitors

As an unintended consequence, Trump found a way of taxing one of the big tax avoiders. I guess the stock value should take a hit, but probably good for the US taxpayers.
It is the legal responsibility of an American Corporation to increase profitability.  Apple has broken no US law by avoiding taxes when permitted.

Thanks for your first post Apple bash.  Troll..!
Why do people keep saying this? There is no such legal obligation on an American, or any other company to do increase profitability. They are certainly obliged to act in the shareholder interest and often this means profit, but to say the have an obligation to increase profitability is simply not true. If it were the case, every time a company posted a loss they would be open to shareholder revolt and possible legal action.

Until Apple increases the amount of key travel on these MacBooks, I will never buy one. Yes, I know this is a subjective issue, but the feel of the keyboard is a really, really important aspect for me when using a laptop. I just refuse to compromise on this matter. And I know I am not alone.
I’m sure Tim, Craig, and Phil lose sleep at night because of your demands. You’re not alone? Who’s the other guy? Oh, you mean the anonymous, unsubstantiated comments on sites like MacRumors and 9to5Mac?
I’d be one of those other guys. Problem is, if I want to stay in the Mac ecosystem I have to buy one with this type of keyboard. It says more about my desire to stay a Mac user than any endorsement of the keyboard, which I think sucks.

  • Artists claim Apple pays in goods instead of cash for Today at Apple sessions

If artists agree to exchange their time for an item, then on the face if it, it’s their problem.

But, in being treated this way, it just perpetuates the idea that the arts is a curiosity, that it doesn’t have any real value, and that it is legitimate to approach an artist and tell them that this will be good for “exposure”.

Yes, I appreciate that in this case, that artists *are* compensated.

However for a company which prides itself on its connection with the arts, that has built itself on the back of the arts, and artists, for a company like that to *barter* with those very people... it tells me that they don’t value artists nearly as much as they think they do.

The person who designed the 5th ave Apple store wasn’t paid in iMacs or ‘exposure’, why should an artist be treated any differently?
