Their salary didn't suddenly become denominated in USD so it's become more expensive, regardless of the cross rate which is irrelevant.
I'm waiting for prices to rise in AUD - we've tracked the CAD pretty closely so I suspect it's around the corner.

intuitive - using or based on what one feels to be true even without conscious reasoning; instinctive: his intuitive understanding of the readers' real needs.
