  • Apple Store sitemap leak confirms 'iPhone XS,' 'iPhone XS Max,' & 'iPhone Xr' names for 20...

Xs Max and Xr are the dumbest names ever. Please god let Apple be punking us all.
I agree. It’s time to pick a name, say iPhone, iPhone Plus, and iPhone whatever. Add the year of release on it and be done with it. The number is a bit dated at this point.

  • Touch ID MacBook, 'Series 4' Apple Watch with ceramic back, USB-C iPad Pro may be coming

Kuo predicts, upcoming Macbook might have TouchID but not full touchbar, is most sensible thing for MAC laptops. Wish Apple just get rid of that touchbar and have either full screen touch or simply touchID or FaceID for secure login..
It would be great to make the touchbar an option on the 15”. I have no use for it, especially at the cost premium.

  • Apple Watch 'Series 4' leak shows slimmer chassis with larger screen & new watch face

I have the Series 2, so it’s probably not worth an upgrade for me. My wife has the series 1, I might get her one of these for Christmas.

Thank god they are tuning back the red dot on the crown, talk about a ***king ugly design feature. Beyond me why Apple had red dots and thought they looked good. And I generally don’t care about colors too much.

We need some more affordable premium Apple smartphones. And we need a 4.5 - 5” small size iPhone with all the high end features on iPhone X, for all of us SE lovers who want the premium Apple experience and feel these features shouldn’t be exclusive to the beasties.
Completely agree! I am still using my iPhone 5S and would really like to upgrade this autumn, but I'm quite annoyed that only the iPhones with the biggest screens get the best cameras. In my opinion the size of the X may still be alright, but it's on the border of being too large.

Absolutely. Even if they could get the X down to the size and weight of the 6, I feel like that would be a big improvement. For years, there was a push to make phones smaller, thinner and lighter, but once the market for bigger phones was discovered, it seems that everybody has forgotten about those of us who want power in a small package. My only thought is that they’ve been creating this equivalence between screen size and price, and they’re afraid it will be harder to ask high prices for a smaller screen. That, and maybe the question of getting a strong battery into a small phone. But it seems strange that the thinnest iPhone to date, if I’m not mistaken, is the 6, and they’ve been getting heavier since then too. And if you want the luxuries of one-handed operation, great pocketability and full built-in support for your high-end headphones, the only option is the low-end model (which is still a great phone, of course). My dream phone would be about the size of an SE, but with the full-face screen and cameras of the current flagship model. And I’ll take a lighter, thinner and shatterproof aluminum back over wireless charging any day.
It would be nice to see Apple come out with a 4-4.5” screen phone for the market but I wouldn’t expect to see the same internal parts because the space in the phone is more limited. Although, they could afford to make it somewhat thicker since it is a smaller phone.

  • Netflix's iOS App Store fee avoidance will only give 'modest' revenue boost

I think the whole Apple as a marketplace and what cut should they get is a fascinating discussion. For those that argue these commissions are legit because Apple’s providing access to a billion consumers willing to spend money etc. then why does Apple allow free apps in the App Store? Why shouldn’t every app cost something and Apple gets a percentage of the sale? And if we’re talking customer acquistion, couldn’t one make the case that Uber and Lyft owe their success to Apple/iOS more than Netflix? Yet Apple doesn’t take a cut of Uber and Lyft transactions.
Why stop there? Should PC manufacturers get a cut for all the stuff bought on their computers? Or how about the IP made on their computers?

I only think Apple should get a cut if their services are used, how it currently is. I don’t see any issues with the Apps, say Netflix, routing the user through a web browser to sign up outside of Apples services. Thus, Apple should get nothing.

Apps like netflix are necessary for the iPhone to succeed.
