I just took his statement as commentary on the behaviour of humans.

Apple to reveal fiscal Q3 2016 earnings on July 26
Hopefully, since iPhone SE used quite a few parts that had been around since iPhone 5, they will be making good margin out of that phone. And it seems to have taken most of two months for them to catch up to demand on the SE. I'm not saying it will be a stellar quarter but hopefully that helped somewhat.

You raise some fine points but not everyone carries so many cards.
And in NSW Australia, Driver Licences should be digital by the end of 2018.
For many outings, all necessary cards would be on the iPhone: credit/debit cards and driver license.
Other countries will get there.

Excellent.
Once this is widespread, people should feel more confident to leave their credit cards at home as they can use a cash withdrawal as a backup plan to standard Apple Pay-ments.

Shipping delays continue to dog Apple's 4" iPhone SE
Switched from iPhone 6 to SE on release day and haven't regretted it at all.
Long live 4" iPhones.
