There's no way this is Apple bowing to the pressure of Australian banks. This would always have been intended by Apple. As Radarthekat said, they first keep tight control of new features and then they slowly open them up in a safe way. 

I'm laughing at those banks that didn't get on board. The new Person to Person Apple Pay payments are received to an 'Apple Pay Cash Card' which stores the value received. You can then send that value on to someone else or spend it using Apple Pay or withdraw it too your bank account. So from my understanding it works like a digital pre-paid Visa debit card. This will open up Apple Pay to all Apple users regardless of whether their bank is on board or not.

How much weight can the USB-C and Lightening ports support before the phone/device disconnects from the cable? Example, if my iPhone 7 drops off my bedside table to the floor I can grab the connected cable and slowly pull the iPhone back up and the Lightening connector supports the phones weight. Can USB-C do this?

Yep, I'm pretty sure - except for those who ordered in the first 6 hours - they have been 6 weeks backordered for everyone worldwide from day one.

I'm not so sure. When I swipe right I see a bunch of widgets. I actually have to scan an incorrect finger three times to have the keypad and the Energency button show up.

Ps. If Siri is active on the lock screen you can ask Siri, 'Whose phone is this?' and Siri will give a subset of their contact info. (All contact info if unlocked.)
