  • macOS Tahoe gets Liquid Glass visual redesign & major tools updates

Am I the only one who is absolutely ecstatic about finally being able to label actual folders with color rather than just having a dumb dot? Only took them more than 20 years to bring this back!
    System 7 strikes back.

And it looks like the iPad now had multifinder on by default, another System 7 shout out.

  • Apple's new and sweeping user interface design is called 'Liquid Glass'

Liquid, eh.. like 'aqua' ? Is it lick-able? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aqua_(user_interface)

  • Dedicated Games app in iOS 26 will try to help users play together & find new titles

It won’t matter without great quality (at least console level) games to play.

Apple really should have jumped on Destiny while it was hot.

Maybe purchase Star Citizen or something. Buy Blizzard. Do something huge.
In other words, make the same kind of investment in exclusive original content that they made with AppleTV+

  • App Store contributed $1.3 trillion to global economy in 2024

This is a descriptive study masquerading as an impact study. The really interesting question is how much larger world GDP is with the App Store than without it. In the absence of the App Store, a lot of the commerce would have happened anyway, either through the web or other app stores on other platforms, or through actual (gasp) real world physical interactions.

This is a bit like giving Walmart credit for the full GDP of every product sold in their stores. In the absence of Walmart, the vast majority of those products would still have been produced and sold to consumers. But Walmart did likely make a contribution by making the process of getting the goods into consumer hands a little bit more efficient than it would otherwise have been, thereby contributing some real value. Same with the App Store -- there's likely some real value being contributed, but it's very likely way smaller than $1 trillion.

  • Trump trade war delays Apple Intelligence's debut in China

China gonna China. But it's not like everyone is clamoring for th current version of Apple's AI.
Srsly. I use the enterprise version of ChatGPT almost every day for real work. All I’ve used apple intelligence for is Genmoji.

Anybody arguing Apple isn’t behind is either a hopelessly delusional fan or just knows nothing about what others in this field are doing.
