  • Apple fights back against shareholders who want to end DEI hiring

You can thank Tim Cook’s “donation” to the inauguration for shareholders being extra emboldened.
More likely — you can thank Cook’s personal donation for giving Apple the space to stick with their DEI policy. Trump cares more about personal respect/loyalty/approval than about policy. I bet Trump values cooks contribution more because it came from him personally rather than from Apple. And having shown that personal respect, Cook will likely get more of a free pass on how he runs apple.

  • M4 Mac Studio, M5 MacBook Pro form part of Apple's 2025 Mac launches

I would love to see an Apple Silicon server chip sent in the Mac Pro. That would be huge for AI / ML development. Mac Pro already offers a rackmount variant.
I was thinking a similar thought. Perhaps people could buy Mac Pros to train their own models or do large scale inference and then access apples cloud resources in a kind of hybrid cloud model.

I really think Apple is best positioned to compete with Nvidia. AMD is a weak competitor and their weakness makes it seem harder to compete with Nvidia than it really is. AMD has always been weak at software. Nvidia is stronger than AMD at software but Apple is even better. Basically Apple is second to none in both hardware and software. Put those two together and they can definitely take on Nvidia.

An earlier release of an M4 ultra studio would be nice.

Community notes are a joke. They don't work. Facebook and X both have policies that promote hate and division on the platforms. No one decides what true or isn't. Facts are self evident.
I agree with the first several statements but I’m not sure what you mean by the last sentence.

Often facts are not self evident. Uncovering facts (and truth) can be a difficult process. Scientists and journalists have processes for doing this. When implemented by smart people acting in good faith, those processes work well (but aren’t perfect). Once facts/truth are uncovered the challenge becomes sharing them with others. That also involves a process and things like reputation and trust.

Facebook and X are antithetical to everything in the above paragraph. There are a bunch of people who are either operating in bad faith or ignorant of processes for uncovering facts/truth. They undermine trust in people who are operating in good faith and following effective processes.

Facebook and X are very much like a cancer. Damaged cells replicating out of control that will eventually destroy all healthy tissue and then the cancer will eat itself.

These things need to be hit with heavy chemo and radiation before it’s too late

Since 2007, Apple has developed several successful and valuable technologies, products, and services:

    iPad
    Apple Watch
    AirPods
    Apple TV+
    Apple Silicon Macs
Swift, Metal, and a wide variety of other software technologies

And, though not yet commercially successful, the AVP is certainly new and innovative and has the potential for commercial success if they stick with it.

Facebook has done a few things, too. They bought WhatsApp and Instagram and made them both worse. Their hardware products are money losing flops.
The only thing that seems remotely successful is Threads, which was only enabled by Musk being even more hated than Zuckerberg. But my guess is that blusky will beat them both.
