  • Russian YouTubers keep showing off alleged M4 MacBook Pros in historic Apple leak

This is from a country whose largest export to the world is disinformation… obviously fake.
    Disinformation, hydrocarbons, and death.

Reagan was right about there being an evil empire. But the evil wasn’t due to the communism, it was due to the sadistic authoritarianism inherited from the czars.

Would it be too much to ask for an Apple Studio update with the rest of them? I know the current Wunderzwillinge united squad arounde it being delayed until the WDC, but wouldn’t it just make more sense to release them all at once?
Mac Pro and Mac Studio likely to be updated in the second half of 2025, and thus likely announced at WWDC.

And without getting into a long-winded explanation, no it would not make any sense for Apple to release all its products at once for many, many, logistical and manufacturing reasons, among other factors. Even if you just wanted all the Macs (not anything else) released all at once, that wouldn't be practical from a production point of view.

Tim Cook was the wizard overseeing Apple's manufacturing and logistics before he became CEO, it is precisely because of what he did and his subordinates have done since that the company can produce so many products and categories of products across a given year.
I’m skeptical. The Mac Pro and Mac Studio have tiny volumes compared to just about every other product they sell. I seriously doubt it would be a big logistical issue to release these at the same time.

The only non-marketing reason I can think of for waiting until much later to release the high end desktops is if Apple is making a bunch of m4 ultras for ACDC purposes and wants to use every one they can get for that purpose.

  • TSMC-Amkor chip packaging deal will boost Apple chip production in the US

    Yes. Very nice.

In the back of my mind, I'm troubled that a set of chipmaking facilities is in the Phoenix area potentially for the next 20 to 40 years, but hopefully they understand they will need to manage water and climate issues in a good way.
There are vastly worse water use offenders:

  • Ireland plans what to buy first with Apple's $14 billion tax windfall

So far the 21st Century is turning out to be the best by far in the history of Ireland. This is another page in that book. I say good for them! All the other centuries were pretty harsh on the Emerald Isle. They deserve a break.

  • Apple is reportedly not investing in OpenAI

Maybe Apple poached enough OpenAI engineers to the point they don’t need waste anymore money on OpenAI.
Or maybe apple realized it makes more sense to spend billions on M4 Ultras to train their own models than to line the pockets of openAI VCs
