House antitrust chair calls Apple App Store fees 'highway robbery'
Cicilline is obviously in the pocket of Google and Microsoft. Of course their CEOs will testify— they want to tear down Apple for competitive reasons, namely success. I hope the rest of Congress sees through this corporate shill. Good for Tim Cook on not agreeing to testify— he shouldn’t give this guy the time of day. Oh, wait, he probably already does, on Cicilline’s iPhone. -

Mini LED iPad Pro with 5G reportedly pushed back to early 2021
MplsP said:Since they just released an updated iPad Pro releasing another update this year would have been strange and not consistent with Apple’s history. I would assume they would put an ‘A13x’ in the new ipad? The current A12 processors are actually plenty powerful for the majority of users’ needs so there’s no pressing need to get a new processor out, either.
I’m still trying to figure out what/how much benefit 5G will give indoors. The short-wavelength portion of the spec doesn’t penetrate buildings, and the other aspects of 5G don’t make a big difference, either. I suspect adding 5G is more to make it seem up to date than anything else.
Actually, it is just like them to, every once in awhile, do a twice in a year upgrade— in 2012 with the iPad 3 and iPad 4; in 2018 with the MacBook Pro. -
Apple unveils new iPhone SE priced at just $399
Gobnu said:Expected, but still disappointing. I was hoping they would pull off the surprise and have one in the original SE case with an A12 in it. I would greatly miss the smaller size, and the flat edges. Guess I'll have to take a look at the fall offerings.
