  • Apple Watch Series 6 blood oxygen monitoring available in more than 100 countries

I'm glad these features are available in India. Now if we can only get rid of that 50% "additional overcharge fee", which is most likely pocketed by corrupt individuals.

  • GrayShift's GrayKey iPhone forensics tool disassembled in FCC photos

Now that this device exists and apparently has been used successfully, law enforcement agencies should stop bugging Apple about creating a backdoor on their devices.

  • Apple preparing for folding iPhone with Samsung screen order

I like the displays the engineers use in Westworld. If Apple did something like that, I'd be cool with it.

  • Mark Zuckerberg says Apple's App Store 'deserves scrutiny'

    Pot—>Kettle.

I'm no lawyer, but I'm not sure how Apple can be antitrust. Okay, they built their own ecosystem and walled garden, but no one is forced to buy Apple products or services by market limitations or by fiat. There's plenty of non-Apple stuff out there. If you buy into the ecosystem, then you live in that ecosystem. If Apple opened themselves up, then they (and every Apple user) would be vulnerable to outside forces and interference.
Now, Facebook is vulnerable to antitrust claims, because they're really the only game in town when it comes to social media platforms, especially now that they own Instagram and WhatsApp. Even more so because they control the narrative with regard to how social media works. They built the algorithm that controls how we get our information and how we interact with each other. And they use all of our interactions to mine data about us.
Perhaps Apple could develop a way to allow people to install iOS apps from outside of the App Store, but then that leaves those users vulnerable to the whims of those developers. And to open up their system like that degrades their brand identity.

  • Apple expected to deliver Made in India 'iPhone 12' by mid-2021

I really really hope this means that we won't have to pay the 30-50% "additional overcharge fee" that we always have to pay on Apple products here. I would love to be able to buy my iPhones, iPads and Macs here, rather than buy them elsewhere, or have friends/family buy them in the US and bring them to me.
