  • Apple readying for legal battle against European Union's App Store regulations

Apple needs to give up this one.

It's insane that I can't load whatever software I want on MY iPhone from whatever source I choose.

Hopefully once they're forced to do the right thing in Europe they'll go ahead for the rest of the world too.

  • Apple pauses iOS 18, macOS 15 work to stomp bugs now

They should take a year off of new development to fix bugs.  No new OS version next year, hold it until 2025 to fix bugs.

  • US Apple Watch sales and import ban: What you need to know

    rob53 said:
"It was also reasoned by Masimo that the U.S. public would not be affected by an Apple Watch import ban as the sensor isn't "essential to the public health or welfare." This was due to Apple's warnings in fine print that the measurements from the sensor "should not be relied upon for medical purposes," Masimo declared." If the Apple sensor isn't of any medical value then why is Masimo suing Apple? Is Apple's implementation inferior to Masimo's? Is Apple's implementation even similar to Masimo's? Who actually owns the original pulse oximetry patents? Is Masimo violating someone else's patents?
Pulse oximetry was invented in 1974, the patents are long expired.

The Masimo patents should never have been issued.  I'm not a fan of Apple bullying smaller companies, but this one is bullshit on Masimo's part.

  • Barbra Streisand corrected Siri by calling Tim Cook

Maybe it's time to start calling it the Streizand Effect.

  • Apple confirms that there is no Apple Silicon 27-inch iMac in the works

    I don't think I have ever made a decree. I wouldn't know how to.

Apple could push out the Mac Studio with an M3 Max but the Studio would remain a hideous monstrosity of a design. It should never have been conceived. It should never have been released and the sooner it goes the better. Aesthetics are far more important than specifications and the Mac Studio is aesthetically offensive.

This is what I meant when I said there is simply no need for it to exist anymore. Apple, please relieve us of it!
What are you blathering about?  You don't like easily accessible ports on the front?  Because those are one of Apple's best design choices in YEARS.

Or do you have a problem that it's big enough to be adequately cooled?  Maybe you don't like the storage (a wear component on ANY computer) not being soldered, because that doesn't generate enough e-waste for you?
