  • 'Apple Car' will disrupt auto industry, says Morgan Stanley

As long as the car will not tell passenger: "You should go there - we are not going where you want. It will be better for you." Too autonomous.

  • LG smart TVs gain Apple Music app

I am tired of this one race promotion in all adds. Seriously that will be declared reversed racism really soon. Start doing diversity ads and commercials instead promoting stupid activism. Many of us  came to this country from places that did not have this problem and are bothered to be treated like that.

  • UK investigating Nvidia's Arm takeover citing national security concerns

    sbdude said:
Yes, the issue was raised by many -- including one of the founders.  But I am not aware of any formal investigation into the claims and concerns.

But, it is certainly a legitimate concern:
Under Trump, the U.S. was promoting a "look out for #1" nationalistic strategy and attacking other countries by blocking them from using U.S. technology (which ARM would be if NVIDIA buys it).   That foolishness has fallen away under Biden.  But, Trump and his nationalistic approach that ignores any and all prior agreements could be back.  The UK is certainly aware of that.
(Iran certainly is:  one of their conditions is that the U.S. guarantees it won't break its agreements and promises with a change of administration.)
Because preventing Iran from having the technology necessary to bolster is "domestic nuclear agenda" is somehow a bad thing.
It is dislike for Trump actions without even trying to understand them. Just bad orange man. Proves how some people use their brains (or not). ARM patents are owned by SoftBank (and owner of my former employer). Not many seem to know that Apple is one of investors in SoftBank. Masayoshi Son had great idea albeit utopia to build tech company for 200 years. The problem is that nothing lasts longer than 20-30 years these days and technology changes every two years. That drives directions.

  • Flaw in macOS briefly allowed attackers to install what they wanted

"However, older versions of Apple's operating systems are still vulnerable to the flaw. Because of that, and the other security updates contained in the recent releases, it's recommended that users upgrade their computers."

Right. Because Apple does not want to fix security in older systems (it can), buy new equipment as there will be no patch. Sounds like car owner has to buy new car every three-five years because keys cannot be upgraded/changed by manufacturer. Well I'd certainly buy. I did and made it Linux desktop. All security patches for many years as LTS promises and later change OS to newer (no problem) and extend LTS by probably another few years. But hey you do not get fancy features for 15 minutes fame and use like from Apple. Tradeoff must be made. I did mine after 15 years with Apple computers. MintBook Air (ex-MacBook Air 2010) works like charm and it has security updates.

  • Apple's iPad marketshare growing in declining tablet market

I thought Chromebooks were going to kill off the iPad.
Chromebook maybe not, but Kindle does. Well audience is different: those who read books and learn and those who spent/waste time playing with apps.
