  • Brazil stops iPhone sales until Apple includes an AC charger

Brazil put a price on wokeness, good.

Apple is so concerned about the environment they don't include a charger or earphones in their $1,000+ devices.

At the same time, they make products that can't be repaired and need to be replaced wholesale. Example my XS face ID crystal broke, turns out, that cannot be fixed or replaced. At all. Not by Apple or anyone else. Either you use the phone without, or you throw it away.

What @wood said is a simple solution but Apple won't do that because they're hypocrites. Apple used to be a good company under Steve Jobs - at that time, critics were saying the same thing. Back then they were not right. Today they are.

I also don't think the environment argument has merit - let's say Apple ships 1000x less chargers, OK, fair enough, but people are going to buy 100x more 3rd party chargers, most of which are way more polluting than what Apple is making in its closely monitored factores, and some of these 3rd party chargers will destroy the iPhones, leading to more waste. i think in the end nothing will have been saved. Except the carbon neutral rating, congratulations, hypocrites!

Price for Brazil iPhone by default includes charger. If someone don't want it than give deduction/rebate for charger in final price on invoice.

You can always switch to Android. Perhaps the grass is greener over there /s
What is your point? There is no logic in what you suggesting. He wants iPhone with charger - not Android. Can  you have better, more mature recommendations?

For the record, I switched to Android 3 years ago... for reason of Apple and individuals like yourself arrogance. Listening pays off, poor quality screen that does not respond to drier older person finger tips does not. LG at the time defeated both Apple and Samsung with of model I bought. Now, I hear Apple is going to use those LG displays. Well too late for me. I will consider all smartphone options and not only iPhone.

Apple took the charger out of the box for the iPhone 12 if Brazil had an issue with this why are we doing it now and not for the first time they took the charger out of the box
Because issues are based on long term research of customer base - not on immediate moods and liking or disliking. Apparently this make sense and there is problem with not having charger.

  • With iRobot acquisition, Amazon wants to scan every inch of your home

Amazon is not surveillance company, but it does do too much in space of knowing about people's life. That is why Alexa landed with my household out of power when I saw light coming as indicator on regular conversations when Alexa was not called.

IRobot however has function of restriction and mapping is never complete if you have one with smartphone app. You can restrict it from going where out do not want it and slap back if it retries. What's more concerning is that it listens and watches with sensors and who knows what in the future. You have to muzzle it with cloth or piece of towel so, it is arrested from regular activity. Alternatively you can dedicate some locker/storage in your apartment and home it there without allowing to stay outside where it could perform any activity that you do not want. You can let it out like a dog for short period of time and in areas that are unrestricted (the rest is block and off limits to iRobot). Even when it learns your layout you can restrict where it should clean in your app. We tested it and it works, but any attempt to go out and it is booted back to where it should be.

Goldman Sachs involved no Apple Card for me.

I hope Apple Pay isn’t attached, it isn’t.

What a terrible loss with you. I am not sure how much you know Goldman and how much it changed over years. I worked there 9 years total between 2003 and 2022. They are as liberal now as you are and almost all old staff including CEO is gone for many years. They are managed now by people of type like Google and Amazon and in fact few of them just came from Google and Amazon. They have nothing to do with people who were involved in 2008. I personally encountered attitudes in Goldman in old times and new times recently when i joined for few projects. It is night and day difference. In fact probably 80% of staff from those times left the firm. The similar situation is in Microsoft. This is not the same company as in Ballmer and earlier times.

It is time to verify your opinions and views rather than keep blinders over your eyes.

I almost always pay off my Apple Card monthly but I don't believe we're charged interest as long as we pay something. I could be wrong but I thought this is the way it's done. I know I'm not paying interested when buying Apple products on a 1 or 2 year purchase agreement.
The credit card average balance would tell you your interest you pay. If you do not have monthly balance carried over to next month then you pay zero interest.   I am from financial IT and I worked at Goldman already four times (I was VP there too once, but I consult from time to time there and I know engineers and managers in credit card space as I worked with them elsewhere before). On top of that, I worked in credit processing company that processes Apple credit cards and I had to do with that quite a bit (hence now you how I learned PCI DSS  and warned Apple legal that they cannot be credit processor and custodian of customer personal information at the same time).
