  • Fake news: Apple isn't killing iTunes music downloads

Another comment. There are two core reasons I can see to "own" your music. The first is you are not some one who moves along with the times and are still concerned about logging in online. The second which I have experienced is if you use some music devices to stream music you have to own it to play it through the device. Not an issue though if you stick to Apple's ecosystem. But could be a huge issue for many.
Another reason is how much one buys. I have a kick-buttocks library and iTunes Match; I buy far less music each year than the difference in price between Mapple Music and iTunes Match.

  • Mazda gives in, to deliver Apple CarPlay support with 2018 Mazda6

Despite packing a Series 0, iPhone X, and AirPods, I hop into my rusty 2001 Silverado and enter Dôrk Tímës. The CD and AM still work, but the FM is fried; front speakers are cracked and rattly, back speakers kinda shot as well.

The local GM mechanics say the drivetrain will be good for another 170,000 miles, which, with my 3-minute commute, means I could put off a new car until 2052. Hopefully my next vehicle will have FlyingCarPlay.

If Apple keeps the MBA name and adds a retina screen to it they’d basically be admitting the rMB is a failure and there would be zero reason for it to exist. This device would also cannibalize sales of the rMBP sans TouchBar. My guess is either Apple is working on a cheaper rMB that maybe doesn’t have as good of a display as the current rMB models do.

Keeping the Air around is nuts and just makes their laptop lineup very confusing. They need to go back to Steve’s grid of consumer/pro, desktop/laptop and stop confusing the lineup by keeping old products around or (creating new ones) just to fit certain price points. Keep it simple stupid. And if they have to give up some margin to take on Google in the classroom then do it. The last thing Apple should want is students being all in on the Google ecosystem.
Apple has made education only Macs before. I know it pisses people off sometimes because its something they want and can't have ...
I married a teacher and have enjoyed her education discount on occasion. Anyone desiring an education-only Mac should follow suit. Only downer is that I've got it bad, got it bad (got it bad), I'm hawt for teacher.

  • Apple Pay collection plate being considered by the Church of England

As an avid Watch user and follower of Jesus the Christ (Superstar!), we've moved into a time when it's possible that one couldn't buy or sell goods or/and services without a mark on the wrist or forehead. (Maybe Mapple will name its first head-borne device Mark I. Dong dong dong! "This device is quite the Beast!" raves reviewers!)

  • Apple becoming more open about product placements in TV shows

I find product placement to be fairly silly, although it's a greater source of amusement to see Scamdung products used by people who should know better, thwarting the suspension of disbelief as it's patently obvious a canoe of money changed hands to put them on screen.
